Team Uff Da
Fishin' Mission Statement

The name
defines our fishing style! We at Team Uff Da are located in
Southern California and Maui Hawaii, far from our namesake’s origin,
but close to exciting fishing destinations. Team Members are Craig
Skeie, Keith Skeie and Brian Ruby, three folks that can only be
described as fishing machines!
Team Uff Da has
brought home the meat-cakes (or bacon for the traditional cliché) in
our recent fishing tournaments.
We assembled
this website to invite you to join our Team! Team Uff Da is looking
to share our next great tournament adventure with
YOU!
Team Uff Da
practices the fillet and release program. Fillet and release allows
surviving marine life a creature comfort not traditionally offered
to them. By releasing the fish after filleting, other fish can
enjoy fresh sushi grade meat delivered directly to them. This saves
the fish consumer the time, effort and energy that would normally be
used to pursue live food, hence creating a more convenient life
style for all marine species.
Team Uff Da is
selective in their practice of fillet and release. Any fish that is
too small or requires extensive cooking preparation is released
without the honor of fillet. These fish once released will face the
humiliation of knowing they did not meet the high quality standards
of Team Uff Da and will be forever haunted by their shame.
It is the hope
that by practicing fillet and release, Team Uff Da will inspire the
next generation of fish to seek out our Team and provide much larger
lethargic fish for the future.
"Uff da" is "a
Norwegian expression heard frequently in Minnesota when
someone might otherwise say 'Oops!' or 'Ouch!'"
It
is a perfectly polite expression which may be used in place
of various vulgarisms. One wag has observed, "In Norway,
Charlie Brown says, "uff da!" instead of "Good grief!."
